China is in the process of updating two crucial standards – the cornerstone of its food labeling regulation. Two non-final drafts were disclosed at the end of December 2018, and they seem to introduce several important modifications concerning:
- QUID for ingredients;
- Positive and negative claims;
- Allergenic ingredients labeling;
- Additive declaration
- mandatory content of nutritional label;
- exemptions to nutritional labeling;
- error ranges in nutritional declaration;
- Recommended serving;
- allowed nutritional claims (content, comparative, function);
